Victories of the day for Gagliardo included Spec Heavyweight, Thumper 150, and Supermini. In fact, Gagliardo was only really challenged once during the entire weekend, by Cam Morehead in Thumper 150 competition. Morehead ended the race in second position, just four-tenths of a second behind Gagliardo.

The Supermoto contest turned out to be a crashfest, with multiple riders going down, including SEMRA favorite Stephen McDonald. Luckily, things went better for Team Sabotage member Ben Robinson, who got the holeshot and rode to a convincing victory. One of the best races of the day was the battle for second, among Chris Burchfield, Tim Michel and Stason Tyrell. At the line, Burchfield came in second, Michel in third, and Tyrell just off of the box in fourth.

GP85 action started with title favorite Kenneth Fischer on pole. However, at the flag, things quickly changed, as youngster Palmer Kling got the holeshot on his Cobra CX65. Nate McDonald got around both Fischer and Kling relatively quickly and proceeded to pull a large gap at the front. Kling held off Fischer for a good portion of the race until Fischer seized an opportunity and got around the youngster. Unfortunately for Fischer, there weren’t enough laps left in the race to reel in McDonald and he had to settle for second place. McDonald ended up winning the race, and Kling rounded out the podium in third.

The Kids Expert race highlighted one of SEMRA’s fastest-rising stars: factory Cobra rider Palmer Kling. He not only won the Kids Expert class but also podiumed in three additional classes over the weekend. In Kids Expert, the battle of the day was for second position, between Josh Jovi and Kyle Aubin. In the end, Jovi beat Aubin for second by just six-thousands of a second!

The Formula One race had one of the closest finishes of the weekend. Last year’s championship winner, Bob Henderson, was able to hold off Nate McDonald for the win. The gap to second position was only seven-tenths of a second. Miami native David Thomas rounded out the podium.

With only three rounds completed, now is the time to experience SEMRA’s brand of fun, family-orientated and inexpensive mini road racing. For riders 8 through 80, SEMRA can provide all of the thrills of racing a full-sized motorcycle at small-bike prices. Don’t let the small size of the motorcycles fool you: These riders are fast, and the competition is fierce.
